LAURA HENNING – RAFA ALUMNAE

Laura Henning began her dancing career at the age of five at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. At the age of 13 she joined the Bay Area Houston Ballet & Theatre where she was given the opportunity to perform in many ballets and musicals. Her favorite ballet roles include Snow Queen and Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Lead Swan in Swan Lake, and Lead Willis in Giselle. Her favorite musical theatre roles include Marian Paroo in The Music Man, Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz, and Peggy Sawyer in 42nd Street. After 13 years at RAFA and BAHBT, Laura graduated from Clear Lake High School and moved to New York where she attended Marymount Manhattan College. A year later she was cast as a Radio City Rockette. This 2009 season will mark Laura's third season with the Rockettes in the Nashville cast which performs at the famous Grand Ole Opry. During the off-season she takes dance at Broadway Dance Center and studies Philosophy at New York University. RAFA and BAHBT will always hold a special place in Laura's heart.
